FACT VERSUS THEORY
when it comes to the Structure of Water

      As I came to the end of my journey to complete the book Water Empowerment for Life I have added a few new sections. This section is going on my website as well as in my book Water Empowerment for Life, and is very important because it deals with the pervasive tendency by many companies and alternative researchers to present the molecular structure of functional water products as a proven fact. This issue has come to the forefront more prominently as I finalize the book.
      On the cover of my book Water Empowerment for Life I have presented platonic solid geometry as an interesting way to understand the structure of water as it transitions from one state to another based on the application of the M-Power Aqua Technology™. Based on what is known in mainstream chemistry and physics I can find no other theoretical position that makes any sense. I am also fascinated that Plato over two thousand years ago understood the structure of water in the same way currently accepted by mainstream scientists as the prevailing theory about H20 structure.
      However, the H20 structure of functional water products that contain low dissolved solids in not factual, any more than the over all structure of water itself when containing low dissolved solids. To take this issue of fact versus theory even further, the structure of the simple H20 molecule is a theory in and of itself! This is because no one has ever seen an H20 molecule with high magnification, where as some molecules can be viewed with an electron microscope. H20 is presented as a specific structure based on a combination of indirect technological analysis and mathematics. From this basic, indirect understanding of H20, the over all structure of water in a liquid form containing low dissolved solids has been presented from a theoretical point of view by mainstream chemists and physicists.
      On the other hand, information about water that I have come up with based on independent technological analysis and clinical studies is factual and not merely theoretical. I had technological analysis and clinical studies completed for M-Water products, which I present in detail in both my online writings and in my book. These well established facts about M-Water products can then be used to fine tune a theory about the structure of H20 clusters in terms of their specific geometries.
      Based on an independent analysis by Fenestra, Inc. of M-Water products and more than 35 other water products, I have come up with O.H.P.™, which is short for Optimum Hydration Profile™. In other words, I have been able to determine the specific properties that drinking water must have in order to facilitate optimum hydration when taken orally. The complete O.H.P. report is only available in my book Water Empowerment for Life. (not in the current limited manuscript offered on the website, but only in the first book printing to come out by October of 2005).
      O.H.P. is a set of measurements for very specific water properties. PH is an example of a water property and must be in a specific numerical range for drinking or functional water to provide optimum hydration, with this specific pH range reported in the O.H.P. section of Water Empowerment for Life. All of these measurements for water properties can only exist in very narrow ranges in order for there to be O.H.P. for any given drinking or functional water product.
      In addition to O.H.P., there appears to be an optimum molecular size for H20 in order for any given drinking water to provide optimum cellular hydration. The ideal molecular size is not specific but very indirect by using a very specific type of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). In other words NMR provides a very general way to compare one water sample with another in terms of H20 cluster size. This information is also provided in the NMR section of Water Empowerment for Life and on my website.
      Clinical studies are factual presentations about the capacity of any given drinking water to increase cellular hydration and have established M-Water products as the only type of drinking or functional water in the world proven to make a real difference in this regard. Therefore, it also makes sense that M-Water products are the only drinking or functional water in the world that has been proven to have O.H.P., which is because optimum hydration and O.H.P. cannot be separated. They are intimately related: water must have specific properties to bring about optimum cellular hydration. This lends further credence to comments I have made in the past: for people to create the highest level of health physically, mentally and emotionally they must drink M-Water products to be sure in this regard. Since it is known that hydration is the ultimate foundation for health and anti-aging, the importance of drinking M-Water products is very important. There is literally no other solution!
      When it comes to the internal micro structure of water molecules in low dissolved solid water there are only theories and not hard facts. The only way that the structure of water can be known with factual certainty is if solids are dissolved in which the geometries are factually know. The interface between the water molecules and the solid will form specific geometries.
      In my opinion, presenting the structure in water with low dissolved solids as factual rather than theoretical has done a great disservice to the functional water industry, which is particularly true of those water products that are presented to bring about improved cellular hydration and other health benefits.
      If a water product has nutrients added, such as vitamins and minerals, then those structures can very often be addressed with greater reliability in terms of the over all molecular structure in solution. I mention elsewhere in my writings that as a child I grew crystals by super saturating water with specific chemicals. I was fascinated with the beauty of growing crystals from a solution, such as adding copper sulfate to water and then letting the crystals grow over time. The shape of these crystals is one and the same as molecular geometry.
      The only type of low dissolved solid water that has been presented factually in terms of molecular structure is when it is frozen. When water is frozen it is generally believed that the molecules form hexagonal lattices (six sided layers one on top of the other). This can be seen with the naked eye with snow flakes forming a vast array of beautiful hexagonal shapes. When water is frozen the frames of water change slow down and can be observed as hexagonal, but when the water heats to become a liquid the frames speed up to over one million times a second. Therefore, just as in the crystal growing example I gave, it is assumed that what is seen with the naked eye in frozen water is also true on the molecular level. Unfortunately, there are so called experts on water who claim that liquid water with low dissolved solids can maintain hexagonal clustering, which flies in the face of the most basic facts about liquid water presented in mainstream chemistry.
      There has been both mainstream and alternative research on the crystallization phenomenon when water is frozen. In mainstream research I have cited online and in Water Empowerment for Life it is known that crystallization patterns of water when frozen can be transferred without the need for a dissolved solid, after the pattern is generated with a solid involved. In the alternative research of Dr. Masaru Emoto, cited in my different writings, there are interesting outcomes to the hexagonal crystallization of water when it is frozen. Dr. Emoto has observed that different subtle influences, including the placement of words on the side of a water container, will change to crystallization patterns dramatically in terms of the specific way in which hexagonal patterns form. All the crystallization patterns photographed by Dr. Emoto are generally hexagonal, but based on the type of input there is greater or lesser coherence observed with these hexagonal patterns.
      I deal with Dr. Emoto’s water crystallization experiments in the philosophical section of my book, rather in the science section. This is because the tendency for water to form different crystallization patterns as observed by Dr. Emoto is a philosophical concept rather than an empirical one. Based on the many photographs taken by Dr. Emoto it appears that positive life affirming influences tend to increase the coherence and therefore the beauty of water crystallization patterns. An influence is provided to a container of water, frozen, viewed under a microscope and photographed. However, Dr. Emoto's approach is so far outside the range of objective standards, it is not possible to assign too much importance on the level of objective science.
      Dr. Emoto has taken water crystallization photos of M-Water products and these can be viewed online and in Water Empowerment for Life. I only assign philosophical importance to these photos.
      It is important to use objectivity and understand facts versus theory. Unfortunately, there are some prominent products presented by their inventors with structure as factual and even do so on the US patent website. One of the biggest complaints about functional water products from mainstream chemists and physicists is that alternative healthcare people present the specific structure of low dissolved solid water in liquid form as factual rather than theoretical. Otherwise, it might be easier to get the involvement of mainstream scientists when it comes to healthcare.
      A few years prior to completing the book Water Empowerment for Life I called the Chairman of the Chemistry department at a prominent Oregon university. I asked him what he thought about clustered water products in general and how I could more definitively ascertain the molecular structure of low dissolved solid water. I expressed my interest in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to him prior to actually having it done later by a private lab,  but the chemistry department chairman told me that not too much can be made out of NMR for clustering behavior in water without dissolved solids. He was fairly critical in his discussion with me about clustered water products, which is because of the fact versus theory issue. However, he did think there was a pathway to establishing scientific validity and further mainstream research.
      The chemistry department chairman told me that I should pursue clinical studies as the first priority. He told me that if I could prove a substantial difference in biological response from drinking any given functional water product that was not produced by adding solids, gases or using ionization, then this would mean that there must some sort of change in H20 clustering structure. With factual information about biological effect I should be able to eventually, according to the chemistry department chairman, attract mainstream interest from chemists and physicists to better understand the structural issues in a low dissolved solid functional water. However, with the clinical studies in place and O.H.P. established, I am not running around trying to get mainstream scientists to take a closer look at the structure of M-Water products. This will all take place over time as my book gets out to the public and M-Water products become well known.
      There has been both the good and the bad with some of the more prominent functional water products, other than M-Water. The good is that the public is becoming more aware of functional water as potentially better for health than ordinary bottled water products or purified water of different types. The bad is that the presentation of H20 structure as fact versus theory has created problems in several countries around the world.
      At the time of writing about fact versus theory, there is an increasing negative reaction against water products presented as having specific clustering of H20 molecules. In Japan and Asia, and even in England, governments are taking action against functional water products whose primary property is all about the specific way in which H20 forms clustering geometries.
      Even though I have presented Icosahedral and Dodecahedral H20 clustering on the cover of this book as a theoretical proposition, I have never emphasized H20 clustering as a fact. Instead, my theoretical emphasis is about both the vibrational nature of any given water product and its structure, based on the application of natural forces.
      In my opinion, M-Water is all about shifting from icosahedral to greater dodecahedral clustering of H20 clustering aggregation. Again, this is a theory, but one I would say fits into the theories of mainstream chemistry and physics about the clustering behavior in low dissolved solid water. The dodecahedral theory about M-Water products also fits well with O.H.P. (Optimum Hydration Profile) test results and with the results obtained from the short and long term M-Water clinical studies.
